Most microsuction appointments take 20 to 30 minutes. Both ears are assessed during the appointment and wax is removed in the same session where possible.
Should I use ear drops before my appointment?
We recommend using olive oil ear drops two to three times a day for three to five days before your appointment. Softening the wax makes removal quicker and more comfortable. If your ears are very blocked, contact us before applying drops.
What happens if the microsuction does not remove all the wax?
If wax remains after treatment, our pharmacist will advise on further olive oil softening and arrange a follow-up appointment. We do not charge for a follow-up where wax was not fully cleared at the first visit.
