When you might need help
If your ears feel full, sounds seem dull, or you have whistling hearing aids, wax may be blocking the canal. Seek help if you notice ear pain, tinnitus, dizziness, or recurring infections. Book sooner if you use hearing aids or swim regularly.
- Muffled hearing or fullness
- Ringing or buzzing
- Water trapped feeling
- Itch without relief
- Feedback from hearing aids
How to care for your ears
Most ears clean themselves. Let wax migrate out naturally. Do not use cotton buds. They can damage the canal and drum. Use olive oil drops if advised. If you are prone to build up, plan routine checks to prevent sudden blockage.
- Avoid inserting objects
- Keep ears dry after swimming
- Use drops only as directed
- Wipe the outer ear gently
- Book early at first signs
